Girls’ Frontline 2 Guide: Top 5 Tips for New Players

1. HUNTER ASSESSMENTS
Hunter assessments are the tutorial missions that offer details and demonstrations of various combat mechanics. There’s a vast array of systems in the game and the best way to learn about each component is by going through the tutorial missions. These are located in the campaign section in the bottom left corner. These lessons will come in handy as you encounter more challenging fights. It will also help you overcome battles that you may be struggling with. It’s well worth your time to learn the basics here and to do so early in your journey.

2. PROGRESSION PLANNING
As with many gacha games, there are limited resources so it is essential to plan which characters to invest in. You can check out various tier lists online to decide who to level. It’s also a good idea to determine the essential components in a team such as having a tank, healer and DPS. Not every mission requires all of them but by developing units in each category you’ll be covered for a variety of encounters. You should also keep in mind having a mix of weapon damage types and phase weaknesses. This will help you so you can take on various bosses. You want to be selective in which characters and weapons to level up as resources are scarce especially as you get to higher levels. With proper planning you should be able to get enough premium resources to pull on units you want. Do some research, save up resources and like many gacha games wait for the right banners before you pull.

3. BOSS FIGHTS – ACTION LIST
A very helpful tip for boss fights is the action list. Hunter assessments walks you through this valuable feature. On your turn you can view the actions/movements/abilities of the boss. It will be located at the top of the screen (select it to view details). This is essential to help you plan your turn. By reading and evaluating what the boss will do you can then respond accordingly. This is super helpful to determine your positioning and if you should use offensive or defensive abilities. Moreover, if the boss summons additional enemies, you can find out what they will do. For example, in a tough fight, you need to determine do you need to kill the adds or can you avoid them. This will allow you to maximize damage to the boss. This will make a difference when your are coming up against enemies that are several levels higher than you. If you are stuck on a boss fight, check out their action bar.

4. STABILITY SHRED
One of the core mechanics in this game is stability and learning how to destroy it quickly is key. Once again many of the basics around this component is explained in the tutorials. On elite and boss enemies with a high stability count it’s important to consider how to destroy it both on your turn and the enemies turn. Many characters come with reaction skills (e.g. counterattack, action support) that trigger once certain conditions are met (e.g. on being attacked). For example, if an ally is attacked it may trigger a reaction attack(s) from your teammates (certain abilities of these types will also destroy a fixed amount of stability). You can also trigger support attacks when an ally damages an enemy (look for the red lines coming form an ally when you select an attack). On the enemies’ turn, reactions can also be triggered and hence stability destroyed. By setting up your team with these reaction abilities, you can stack up the number of attacks your team performs and reduce a significant amount of stability. Even bosses with high stability can be put into a break state with this tactic. If you’re not sure how much stability will be destroyed, you can cycle through a unit’s abilities and compare the difference before attacking. Lastly, check out which characters have both a weapon and phrase weakness against the enemy. These units will deal more stability damage. By understanding your team’s abilities and selecting the appropriate units you’ll be able to deal with their stability.

5. COMBAT SIMULATIONS
There are certain daily and weekly missions that you can earn premium currency and these are located in the combat simulations section. This includes PVP, boss battles and other challenging mission types. Each have different reset time frames. Many of the battles here can be more challenging. You’ll be able to test the limits of your teams. Complete as much as you can each week and as you level up you’ll be able to get further in each section. It can be an easy section to miss, but one that is valuable and enjoyable.
