Etheria Restart: Beginners’ Guide and Tier List

INTRODUCTION:
Etheria Restart is a turn based RPG that features PVE and PVP content. This guide is developed for completely new players. In this guide, we will cover everything you need to get started. Topics include: re-rolling, redemption codes, combat, teaming building, a simplified tier list and overcoming challenging fights (e.g. jumping from Hell II to Hell III/IV difficulty, beating Ember Trek (normal) and completing Inferno battles. If you’re looking for a review of the game, check out this post.

RE-ROLLING:
It is possible to re-roll in this game. You can create an account and this also enables you to then make a profile on multiple different servers. You also have the option to create an entirely new account with the use of another login method (e.g. different e-mail account). The process is pretty straightforward and similar to other games. You will play through the initial tutorial missions until summoning unlocks and then you can enter the redemption codes and collect the available premium resources.

Should you re-roll? It really depends on how much you enjoy the game. I don’t think re-rolling is necessary. This is because you are given a selector banner and plenty of basic summon tickets and the standard banner gives you access to all characters. In addition, there are a number of SR units that are viable and strong even when compared to their SSR counterparts. Conversely, who you pull can make a big difference in your experience. You may want to play the game for a bit first to see if its a game you want to invest time in before re-rolling.

The main targets for re-rolling are generally the harmony/disorder units. These factions can be used in a variety of content. The primary targets are Massiah (DPS), Shadow Sania (DPS) or Lily (Support). Please note that you will get Lingluo (healer) through playing the game and completing the 7-day challenge missions.

REDEMPTION CODES:
These codes were available during the initial launch of the game. They may or may not be valid when you start:

ETHERIA0605, ETHERIA111, GACHAGAMING, DRP621X2, WEEKLYPVP
TIMAEUSS0605, SEANB0605, VOLKIN0605, ZOXASKUNX0605, SEIIMORE, TECTONE, YDCB, GACHASMACK, BRANONLINE, ETHERIASMASH, ETHERIASORA, BOXBOX, BRAXO, NOBUKOTO, LIMULUTV, ETHERIADFG, MYNTHOS, POCKETGAMER, XLICE, DUKAJA, DORO44, ZY0X

HOW TO PROGRESS:
The quickest way to gain resources is by completing the Hyperlink Charter and 7-Day Commission. This gives new players specific tasks to focus on while also providing many resources to level up. Often you’ll also complete the daily/weekly challenges by going through them. Next, complete the main story missions as they unlock. These will open up more farming missions. Additionally, you can also gain resources by completing any new content that unlocks. These usually give you resources and pull currency. One last component to facilitate progression is the use of Hydra Crystals (pull currency) on energy refreshes. This can help your account progress a lot especially in the early stages by using the maximum energy refresh from crystals. You will still gain many pull tickets from the game. The challenge will be finding the right balance between pulling for units and progressing.

COMBAT:
The core combat system is quite well designed and allows for strategy and player customization. The base system, like many turn based games, revolves around speed and turn order. On top of that each unit plays a specific role on a team while also having certain advantages/weaknesses against specific factions. You can also equip your characters with gear and shells. Altogether, these elements add depth to the combat experience.

TEAM BUILDING:
The ability to select the optimal team members for each encounter makes a significant difference. Understanding the type/roles for each unit can help immensely in this aspect. In practice, many characters are a type of hybrid and include elements of different roles.

CORE ROLES
DPS –
These units deal out the most damage for the team. There are both single target and AOE/cleave focused characters. Each type has its place in different fights. In addition, skill levels can make a massive difference in scaling a units power. The resource to level up SSR skills is quite limited, hence its important to understand and be selective in who you decide to be your team carry.

Speed Manipulation – These units have the ability to alter the speed of your team or the enemy. In a turn based game, this is a significant factor. These units can boost your teams speed and or push back or steal the enemies speed. This not only makes your team quicker to act but with the right setup, you can lap enemies and get another turn before they can perform an action. This makes these type of units quite powerful.

Control These units provide some type of crowd control. For example, the may do this by freezing or putting the enemy to sleep. Often they also come with other powerful debuffs to weaken the enemy and/or affect their speed. Control can be an overlooked aspect. However, with the right control units and/or speed manipulation you can skip and avoid much of the enemies’ attacks.

Healing/Sustain – These units provide survivability to your team. They can do this by providing burst healing, healing over time, shields, life leech or prevent debuffs from being applied. A good sustain unit is a core part of many teams, especially in more challenging encounters.

Buffers – These units provide power ups to your team. Some DPS units specifically require buffs for their kits to function at maximum potential. Buffers can significantly boost your teams overall damage potential and survivability.

Debuffers – These units provide versatility to deal with a variety of encounters. These characters can prevent enemies from gaining buffs, weaken them to receive more damage, or even stop them from healing. The right debuffer against certain enemies can make a fight significantly easier by directly countering their strengths.

GEAR
The main source of power from characters (outside of their skills) will come from gear and shells. Gear comes in a variety of sets that provide different bonuses depending on the number equipped. As you progress you’ll also be able to combine different sets, such as accessing a 12 set bonus and a 4 set bonus as one example.

Sub stats can make a big difference. As resources are limited, its important to select gear with beneficial sub stats. This will vary depending on the unit. For example, in general for DPS, you can look for stats such as speed, ATK%, HP% and Crit Damage/Crit Rate. For support units, speed and HP% or DEF%, depending on what they scale with.

Sets For The Early Game:

The specific set for a unit will depend on what they scale with or need. For instance, in the early game, DPS units will generally benefit from the Onslaught set. While many support units will benefit from Swiftrush (speed) or Wellspring (HP)/Cure (healing) or Bramble (Def).

Shells
:
Shells are another type of equipment that provide stats but also utility. They have passive bonuses that can be re-rolled to provide specific stats to the desired role. They also come with a built in ability. These abilities can give your team significant benefits. Hence, selecting the optimal shells is important when building your team. Here are some suggestions for the early/mid game. They are not the only viable shell options, but some you may wish to consider.

Shells For The Early Game:
DPS:
Agent LizardTargets lowest HP units to help finish off an enemy.

Support:
Unbridled Science Speed boost

Healing – Scorpion Queen – Easy to build and can provide burst healing if you are lacking a good healer or Teacher Owl – Overall stronger than Scorpion Queen and can potentially last longer in terms of usefulness.

Mid-game (Unique):
DPS:
Twilight Knight – Provides DEF down with very short cooldown (2 turn).
Crossroads – Provides ATK up and life leech.

Support:
Black Flag – Provides a speed boost.
Blizzard – Provides cooldown reduction. Can have a significant impact especially on units with longer cooldowns.
Diamond Heart – Provides DEF increase and a shield. Extra shields can really help you get through tough encounters making it easier for your healer to sustain the team.

End Game (Mythic Shells):
At the end game there are a variety of options in the form a mythic shells. The best shell may be different based on the unit and scenario. Here is a listing of each shell by their role.

Utility:
Alicorn – Remove debuffs. Can be helpful in PVE or PVP especially when a lot of control effects are in use.

Survival:
Artisan – Provides shield to self and ally. Very helpful survival boosts that makes a significant impact especially when it first becomes available to the player.
Amber – Recovers HP when about to die.
Lighthouse -Triggers healing and turn meter increase when taking damage greater than 25% max HP.
Law of Silence – Places the unit in void state at start of battle (increase effect RES, reduce cleave DMG and not selectable as a main target). Protects units especially in PVP.

Healing:
Supernova – Boosts healing and may apply heal over time depending on unit HP.
Fortissimo – Stores healing to be used when an ally drops below 60% HP.

DPS:
Revelation – Deals true damage equal to 12% of target’s max HP on a crit. Good for units that can multi-hit and have a 3 turn cooldown. Large DPS jump especially when it first becomes available to players.
Count – Boosts ATK and gains life leech. Good for burst damage units.
White Fang – Boosts CRIT DMG when landing a CRIT. Good in longer battles.

Effect Accuracy:
Golden Lion – Boosts damage and effect accuracy.
Dark Moon – Increase duration of non-control debuffs and increase effect accuracy.

Cooldown/Skill Reuse:
Halloween – chance to reduce skill cooldown of a random skill. Helps to give units access to skills more often.
Codex – Next skill has no CD and increases SPD. Very strong on certain units that benefit from casting certain skills back to back (ex. control units).

Speed:
Jackal Guard -Boosts turn meter. Helps the unit to act before other units.
Gigabyte – Activates after 3 enemy units take action to boost turn meter. Good to cut in between enemy units to take action (ex. healers).

General Tips:
Understand the encounter. You can view the specific boss mechanics for each fight. This will help immensely in devising a strategy to counter their strengths and select the most optimal team. Next, by building the right type of units you’ll have the right tools available. Usually, you’ll focus the most on your DPS/Sub-DPS units first. Then a healer/sustain and supports. Ideally a very fast speed or control until as an opener can give you a massive advantage. This can not only allow you to go first but potentially allow your entire team to go first and crowd control the enemy to be able to act again before they can even start. Lastly, having the right buffs/debuffers can be key in tough fights. For example, when you have the ability to prevent buffs on the enemy or from the enemy applying debuffs to your team you can significantly weaken them. Similarly, counter play is quite important. For instance, when going up against a strong healing team, the ability to block their heals or crowd control the team can make it a much easier fight. By understanding the fight mechanics and selecting the right roles for your team in a specific encounter you can have a much easier time defeating the enemy.

Spend your resources wisely. It starts to become very expensive to level up skills, gear and shells. Hence, its important to prioritize which units to focus on and to be selective in your first 5 core team members and branching out slowly. Moreover, you can transfer older gear or shell to newer units and slowly build a larger array of usable characters.

ANIMA SHOP: Character Duplicates
In the anima shop, you can purchase character duplicates. The units that are available rotate every few days. This can be a good way to get character duplicates especially for SR units. In the more challenging fights having max duplicates on essential SR units will help them deal more damage and/or survive.

THE POWER OF R/SR UNITS:
One of the unique aspects of this game is that SR and R units can be viable and in some cases better (and easier to build) than some SSR units for certain fights. This is due to the ability to more easily max out their skill levels. Skill upgrade investment is necessary to get the most out of them. Some very commonly used units to consider building are:
DPS – Diting, Fangus
Speed Manipulation – Chiaki (The Echo), Marvel, Nell
Crowd Control – Obol, Kazuyo (The Reverie), Vice, Kraken
Healing – Valeria, Sania
Buff/Debuff – Viper, Cachi (The Guard), Dinah, Gray

In particular, if are having issues with survivability, Viper and Cachi bring a lot of very useful skills to the table. I also highly recommend Fangus and Obol even for players without Shadow Sania as their DOT damage combined with their debuffs/cc is incredibly useful in many battles even at the inferno level. For healing both Valeria and Sania are very powerful. Sania’s ability to revive should also not be under estimated. With all skills maxed out she can usually revive and heal close to max HP on the same turn. Further details on each unit is listed below in the tier list.

SHOULD YOU PULL:

Plume: As of her release, she is widely regarded as one of the best units in the game. This is due to her unique debuff ability that can stack with other debuffs. She can reduce enemy DEF, apply weakness (reduces enemy damage) and curse quill (increases damage taken and reduces speed). On top of that, her disorder faction allows her to be used in a variety of encounters.

Ninfoniel: She provides a powerful support kit with shields/healing, an attack buff and immunity that can be used in a variety of fights. She can be the difference from being able to overcome an Inferno fight and not. Combine her with Plume and you have a strong combination of debuffing/buffing.

Liliam: The recent buffs to Liliam change everything. Liliam was a good niche option but now has much more wide ranging viability to be a strong option in both PVE and PVP. Her original overall use was geared towards being more of a bruiser/damage dealer in PVP with the ability to avoid control/turn meter effects, bypass shields and take out more vulnerable units. She also has the ability to stun, self buff (ATK and SPD) and life leech. With the buffs she now is a threat against more bruiser and control focused teams. On the PVE side, with the new buffs she can be a damage carry.

CHARACTER TIER LIST:
This is a simplified tier list geared towards brand new players. It’s based on my own experience and the tier list from here. It does not list every single unit. Instead it places units into each role that you will need in order to build balanced teams. It gives you an idea of the types of units you can aim for and those that stand out in their role. Please keep in mind, many units are a type of hybrid and may fit more than one role. If a unit is not on the list, it does not mean they are not viable.

[HARMONY/DISORDER DPS]:
Units from these factions are powerful since their weakness/strength is against each other. Hence, they can go up against all other factions giving them more versatility.

Yeli – A strong primary DPS carry. Yeli can remove her own debuffs, steal buffs and do follow up attacks. Very strong in a variety of content.

Shadow Sania – The main DPS of the DOT team. Widely regarded as one of the best end game DPS due to the way DOT damage reduces %HP.

Massiah – A powerful DPS that also comes with invincibility.

Diting – A single target focused SR option that many F2P will have access to. Strong burst damage but potentially fragile. A very popular option for strong single target DPS.

[FACTION DPS]:

As each faction has a counter, having one or two options (combined with a harmony/disorder DPS) will allow you to cover most content.

Xiada –
Scales up a lot with buffs and hence benefits from supports that easily provide them.

Rosa – Follow up attacks on critical hits. Requires more investment but scales up as your team gains more critical hit %. Feels less powerful in the early stages, but damage will increase with more skill upgrades.

Tiamat –
Provides the team with sustain. Generally not as powerful as a DPS compared to others but comes with more overall survivability.

Khloros – A single target focused DPS. Overall, provides some of the highest sustained single target damage in the game. Benefits greatly from teammates that can multi-hit.

Lian – A F2P unit that everyone gets access to. Quite strong in the early game and can also multi-hit. Has some of the highest AOE burst damage. However, in late game is generally used more as a sub-DPS.

Fangus – A core part of the DOT team. Can be built for DOT damage or as a regular DPS. Also provides follow up attacks. DOT damage can be effective especially against enemies with high HP, such as bosses. DOT damage is often underestimated especially if you don’t have Shadow Sania; however, Fangus can do significant DOT damage even on his own especially with some skill investment.

Rahu – Strong single target DPS that can scale during a fight. Scales from DEF providing more survivability.

Rilmocha –
An AOE/cleave focused DPS. Can be powerful against mobs of enemies due to how her cleave damage operates but may have issues against single targets compared to other DPS.

[SPEED MANIPULATION]:

One of the most important factors in the game revolves around speed. Hence, these characters can have a major impact on a fight.

Lily – Widely regarded as one of the best units. Provides powerful buffs, speed boost and cooldown reduction for a team. Speed and cooldown manipulation can be game changing.

Mio – Provides speed steal and freeze. This unit alone can allow your entire team to go first and then on turn 2 freeze the enemy allowing your team to act again before the enemy gets a turn. Also provides healing block.

DokiDoki – Provides damage buff, speed boost and cleanse. Generally overlooked since Lily exists, but can be paired with units that benefit from many buffs, such as Xiada. Requires more time to stack buffs. Commonly used with Fuqiu.

Chiaki (The Echo)– The SR time boost unit. Provides a consistent speed boost and damage up to the team.

Marvell – Provides speed push back and control via Silence (can only use skill 1).

Nell/Nilu – Provides vulnerability (increase damage taken), a team wide speed buff and can heal the ally with the highest attack. The disorder faction allows the unit to be used in a variety of encounters.

[CROWD CONTROL]:

As you are starting out, usually having at least one speed or crowd control unit can allow you to progress with ease. Crowd control allows you to avoid damage, disrupt enemy healers and take additional turns before the enemy can act. To enable these units to consistently apply their effects make sure you have effect accuracy. These characters can also be powerful in combination with other crowd control or speed units allowing you to chain effects more reliably.

Kazuyo (The Reverie) – One of the best crowd control units in the entire game. Not only can she sleep the entire team, but she can also apply an attack down and damage taken increase. Meaning she can boost your team damage while also helping with survivability.

Kraken – Can freeze the entire enemy team while also reducing their speed.

Vice – A rare unit that offers a unique kit that can taunt (taunted enemy can only use skill 1), debuff and heal. Quite strong unit considering its a rare unit. Can be used in some inferno fights as well.

Obol – Can stun and convert buffs into DOTs (damage over time). With investment can also act as a DPS/Sub-DPS.

Lilith – Can stun and slow enemies and also comes with a unique skill that has a low chance to trigger an additional turn.

Nahor – Provides DEF down, can remove buffs and block buffs on a single enemy and can AOE freeze.

[HEALING/SUSTAIN]:

Lingluo – One of the best healers currently available that is free to all players that complete the required challenges. Also provides cleanse and immunity.

Sania – A strong SR healer that provides cleanse and revive.

Valerian – A buffer that also happens to provide shields, sustain and a cheat death mechanic. Upgrading skill 3 (and skill 2) is a massive upgrade and makes a significant difference.

Helkid – Hybrid unit that can provide shields, protect against debuffs and brings some damage to the team.

Mia – Heals scale from her own max HP, allowing her to easily top up lower HP characters while also providing shields and dispel.

Chiaki – Another SR healer that provides sustain and damage taken reduction.

Fuqiu – A very strong sustain and speed boost option. Fuqiu provides shields, healing and a team wide speed increase.

[BUFF]:
Freya –
Provides versatility in being able to buff and debuff as well as survivability in giving the team damage leech.

Beyontin – Offers versatility in providing buffs, revival and cooldown reduction.

Gray – A hybrid that can provide buffs and act as a sub-DPS.

Viper – Can reduce allies critical hit damage, counterattack and dispel buffs.

Cachi (The Guard) – A rare unit that comes with a unique kit that can provide immunity and buff extension allowing for more creative and strategic options. Can be used in some inferno fights as well.

[DEBUFF]:
Kloss –
Currently considered one of the best debuffers in the game with the ability to decrease defense, speed, and damage from the enemy and boost their damage taken.

Holden – A tanky defense scaling unit that can counterattack, dispel and debuff.

Heinrich – A versatile debuffer that can block and dispel buffs and prevent healing on the enemy team. Can be built as a hybrid sub-DPS as well.

Celince – Provides debuffs and passive shields to the team and can block enemy passives.

Dinah – A strong SR option for debuffs that reduces DEF and increases damage taken while also being able to provide the attacker with a speed boost.

Example Team Template: PVE formations for general content or to clear Ember Trek (Normal) There are numerous options to put together a team. You will want to customize your formation based on the fight. Here is one example that helped me clear all of Ember Trek (normal). Of course the exact lineup will change depending on the fight. For the card buffs in Ember Trek I usually avoid the card(s) that buffs enemy speed so my team always acts first.

1. Primary DPS:
Ideally a harmony or disorder unit that can deal AOE and do good single target damage and can make use of the Revelation shell (can multi-hit and has a 3 turn cooldown). In my case I used Yeli, but other options from the tier list are also viable. Investing in skill upgrades in your primary DPS is also vital. You may also need to speed tune your DPS so that in conjunction with your speed manipulator they get to act before the enemy team.

2. Speed Manipulator:
A unit that offers a team wide speed buff and has a very high overall speed. This unit helps your entire team act first. In my case, I used Lily with a speed of 280+. Other options from the tier list are also viable. I used a support shell, such as Artisan to provide more team survivability. Don’t forget to roll a good speed passive on your shell. It’s worth the increase in speed.

3. Healer/Sustain:

A unit that can keep your team alive. This option can change depending on what’s needed for the fight. I used Fuqiu with Gigabyte shell. Gigbyte helps Fuqiu speed up after 3 enemies act allowing you to cut in. Fuqiu also provides a team wide speed buff. Other example options include Valeria (provides buffs) or Lingluo if immunity/cleanse is needed or Sania (if you need to potentially revive units).

4. Crowd Control:
This option is a game changer. A good crowd control unit can devastate the enemy team. I used Obol with Codex shell. The crowd control unit should also have a very high speed (2nd fastest after your speed manipulation unit). The codex shell allows him to use skill 3 back to back. Obol’s skill 3 can stun the entire enemy team. On top of that what makes Obol an excellent control unit is that he can also apply DOTs. On bosses and in tough fights, the DOT damage can make a significant impact. He acts as a crowd controller and a sub-DPS. I also like Obol because stun makes it so it doesn’t matter if other units have an AOE attack whereas with a control effect like sleep you have to be more careful. Lastly, Codex is a game changer. With Obol being able to potentially stun the entire enemy lineup for 2 turns, this means they get a chance to act on their 3rd turn. This allows your entire team to do a lot of damage before they even get to perform an action making many fights a lot easier. Other control units are viable. This is just an example.

5. Debuffer/Buffer:
The last slot I used a debuffer. One of the most powerful debuffers is Kloss. Kloss can decrease the enemy damage output and slow them down while also allowing your team to deal more damage. I used a support shell like Artisan to increase overall team survivability. Many other units can also fill this spot. Examples such as Cachi the Guard (provides one of the best sources of immunity) or Heinrich (remove buffs and block healing while boosting CRIT) or Dinah (debuff) are just some examples.

Altogether a balanced team with a DPS that can deal with mobs and single targets with good speed support and debuffs/buffs along with crowd control can be game changing.

GENERAL TIPS FOR CHALLENGING FIGHTS & PROGRESSION:
See What Other Players Have Used – You can click the book icon next to the fight name and see a list of teams that have been used. You can view both fastest and recent clears. Usually recent clears can be helpful as these may include players who are at the same level as you. You can then click to see the exact team formations, gear, skills, shells etc.

Boss Mechanics – In the actual battle, you can click to view the actual boss mechanics. Understanding this information can be key to discovering the strategy or weakness that you need to exploit.

Experiment with Different Formations – You can use the restart function in a fight to test out different teams. It can be helpful to test things out both manually and by using auto to see what happens. You also want to test having different roles and compositions. For example, in some cases 2 DPS might be best; however, in other fights it may be better with 1 primary DPS. It really depends on the fight and your team composition. The best way is to test out different combinations.

Power Progression (upgrade gear, shells and skill levels) – If you find your characters not being able to survive, you may need to upgrade both your gear and shells to the next tier. The stats from each new tier provide a significant increase to characters’ overall damage and survivability. For gear, if you already have a 12 set bonus, you can look at then going for a 12 and 4 set bonus (For example, 12 of onslaught and 4 of harvest). Next, you can go for a 12 and 8 set bonus. You can continue to progress with more sets with more bonuses . This is especially important for your main DPS carry. Each step will usually allow you to clear more content. These higher tiers can be accomplished with gear (that have 3 symbols) and shells (that have 3 symbols). Lastly, consider leveling up a units skill. Resources to level up skills is much more rare; therefore, its important to use them wisely. Usually, you want to focus resources on your primary DPS first. Moreover, some of your support/healers and R or SR units benefit greatly with one or two of their skills leveled up.

Primary DPS Matrixes and Progression – As you gain access to new matrixes, you want to ensure that you upgrade your modules to the best available for each class. This is especially important for your primary DPS. The exact best matrix will vary depending on the DPS. For example, in some cases, you’ll likely be moving from the Onslaught set to Momentum and Fury (and using debuffers). Switching matrixes also means you may also switch your main stats on gear. For example, with Yeli, you can potentially use CRIT DMG main stat on all accessories as long as you can get enough CRIT from other gear and from your shell. Altogether, making this switch once certain matrixes become available will usually give your team an overall damage boost allowing you to take more more content.

Skill Upgrades to Consider for Progression:
Primary DPS – The main focus for progression is your main DPS carry. Doing more damage helps clear more content; hence, skill grades will help a lot.

Healers – Investing in your healers can also boost survivability dramatically and help you overcome certain progression blocks. For instance investing in Valeria (skill 3 and skill 2) is pretty common as well as Lingluo skill 1.

Supports – Similar to investing in healers, increase support skills can make a difference especially as fights get tougher. For example, investing in SR units, such as Kazuyo The Reverie (for DokiDoki fight) or Obol or Cachi the Guard, Vice or Viper and even Fangus (as a sub DPS) can all help you successfully overcome progression blocks.

Consider Crowd Control – Some of the toughest fights against strong healing, DPS or other crowd control teams can be made significantly easier with the right control units of your own. For example, if you have enough effect accuracy you may be able to reliable apply a control effect to the main healer. This will allow you to more easily deal with the fight and pick off units.

Cleanse and Immunity – If the fight has a lot of debuffs, having a reliable way to cleanse them or block them entirely may be needed. This can be done through a variety of units, such as Cachi (the guard), Hellkid, Lingluo or DokiDoki to name a few.

The Power of the Artisan Shell – As you approach hell and inferno difficulty, the Artisan shell can help you out significantly. This shell applies a shield to the main unit and an ally with the lowest HP. If you gear appropriately (adding some DEF%), this shield can be a very helpful way to make your entire team tanky. Hence, having multiple artisans (3 or even 4) on a team can help you survive and reliably clear content.

The Power of the Revelation Shell – For units that multi-hit and have a 3 turn cooldown, Revelation can be a game changer. Primary DPS units will experience a significant DPS increase with Revelation as it allows true damage (bypass defense) on critical hits. In PVP, it can also be used by both DPS or a variety of multi-hit units, such as Freya to inflict team wide damage.

The Power of DOT Damage – Even if you do not have Shadow Sania, DOT damage can be a very helpful source for main or sub DPS. It’s possible to use either Fangus or Obol as main or sub DPS even in challenging fights as DOT damage reduces HP% and can bypass certain protections that reduce overall damage, such as in the NicoNana fight. Upgrading their skills so they can more reliably apply DOTs and equipping them with effect accuracy will also help.

Cooldown Reduction – Another boost in overall power and utility is in the form of cooldown reduction. This can come from units, such as Lily, DokiDoki, Beyontin, Mia, Kazami Kazuyo and others. This can also come from shells, like Blizzard and Halloween and from the gear set, Timeweave. Characters with long cooldowns or crowd control units can benefit greatly from cooldown reduction.

Speed Tuning – Another helpful aspect to consider to optimize a team is tuning their speed and turn order. This will have a greater impact on more challenging fights or encounters where you are stuck. Adjusting your teams turn order can significantly boost overall damage. For example, to ensure your primary DPS does the most damage, you generally want your debuffers and buffers to apply their effects first. If you also have a unit that manipulates time, you want to make sure your debuffers/buffers still go before your main DPS. This is just one example to consider. You may need to tweak turn order and speed for other reasons in a fight to maximize your teams potential.

TIPS FOR SPECIFIC FIGHTS
Ember Trek 30 Memory Abyss (Sharon)- The main method to clear the boss is dealing with phase 1. In phase 1, the adds will gain buffs and at the end of the phase they will pass these buffs to the boss. To deal with this, you need to clear this phase quickly (with high DPS) and/or use crowd control on the adds or remove their buffs just before you clear this phase. Meaning you need to time it so that you debuff them and then clear the first phase as the adds continually gain buffs. The main buffs you want to avoid are those that increase the bosses damage and critical rate. This will allow you to survive phase 2 much more easily. In phase 3, you need to have high enough DPS to clear the adds and then put in damage on the boss. Overall, its a tough encounter that requires high DPS, survivability (2-3 healers/sustain) and/or ways to remove buffs from enemies and cleanse debuffs or have enough healing to survive. It may also help to experiment with the different modifiers you have to select at the start of the fight. In my experience, avoiding modifier 1 or 3 made the most difference. It will of course depend on your team. Another tactic is to leave the fight on auto and observe what happens. I found the AI did a much better job in phase 1 and then adopted that approach.

The exact team setup will depend on who you have access to and your damage. You’ll likely need a primary DPS (who can do both good AOE and single target like Yeli. This lets you clear the adds and do damage to the boss in phase 3), debuffer who can remove the buffs from the mobs (may be able to bypass this if you have very high damage), a healer (ideally with immunity/cleanse), support (with immunity/cleanse) and potentially a 2nd DPS or sustain (depending on your overall damage). If you have high enough damage, you won’t need as much survivability. If you don’t have enough damage, you’ll need more healers/sustain and also a way to remove debuffs/gain immunity. Investing in skill upgrades for your primary DPS and your healers/support (e.g. Lingluo, Valeria, Cachi the Guard) will help a lot. Since the last patch the overall difficulty of the fight has been reduced, although it may still be challenging depending on your team.

EMBER TREK NORMAL: Memory Abyss Boss Level 42
This is the team that I used to defeat the final boss of normal Ember Trek. It’s not the only viable option, but it gives you an idea of the type of units that you will need. If you are struggling with the fight pay attention to speed tuning (getting the right order), shells, skill levels and overall stats.

1. Yeli (DPS)
6 star (max level) – Revelation – S2/S3 Max, S1 L4 – Momentum/Fury/Furyedge (focus on C.Dmg, C.Rate, Atk%) -ATK 3.2K, C.Rate 70%, C.DMG 381%, HP 21K, SPD 178

2. Lily (Support, Buff, CD reduction, Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S1/S2 max – Swiftrush – HP 21.8K – SPD 269

3. Cachi The Guard (Support, Immunity)
5 star (max level) – Artisan – S2/S3 max – Swiftrush – HP 20K – SPD 236

4. Fuqiu (Healing/Shields, Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – No skill upgrades – Swiftrush/Timeweave – HP 41K – SPD 234

5. Valeria (Healer, Buffer)
6 star (max level) – Gigabye – S2/S3 Max – Wellspring/Timeweave (focus on HP%) – HP 49.5K, SPD 169

Card Selection:
This run was completed by selecting: Piercing Attack, Fortune Reversal, and Final Frenzy (leave Ability Enhancement). If you have issues with the fight, you may want to try other combinations.

How the Team Operates:
This team composition gives you immunity and enough sustain/buffs to deal with each stage of the boss fight. Cachi provides the team with immunity and DEF up helping with overall survival and making each phase easier to deal with. Immunity is essential. Fuqiu and Valeria provide sustain while also giving buffs and a speed boost. Lily provides a speed boost and a damage buff/cooldown reduction for Yeli. Lastly, Yeli is the main DPS.

In phase 1, focus on the main boss. This phase should be fairly straight forward and you should have enough sustain/DPS. If you are struggling with phase 1, pay attention to your teams overall stats, shells, skill upgrades and speed tuning (order units take action – usually your buffers/debuffs should go before your DPS). Phase 2 can be a little bit more tricky. If your team is strong enough, you could just leave it on auto. Otherwise you may have to play manually. This is where Cachi can be key providing you with immunity and DEF up. Usually you want to focus on the greatest threat to your DPS. But if there is another threat that is killing your units focus down that unit first. Once you get a few of the mobs down, it should be fairly easy. If you were able to get past Phase 2, you should have the DPS and survivability to deal with Phase 3. In this final phase, just focus on dealing as much damage to the boss.

Ethernet Rally Kururu – The outcome of this fight is heavily dependent on having enough DPS in phase 1. Usually to make it out of phase one with your entire team, you will need to kill at least 1 add and have enough HP or shields to survive the nuke. Having a healer/support with revive is very helpful. In order to do enough damage you need a strong DPS but also good support. Using units that can boost your speed or damage, such as DokiDoki or Chiaki (The Echo) or Fuqui can allow you to get in extra attacks before the boss nukes you. Speed and buffs also helps in phase 2 (no adds) so you can maximize your damage. Additional, Fangus as a sub-DPS can also be very helpful.

Anisync Echo Borgne Nightmare – This fight is made a lot easier with high enough speed and crowd control. If you don’t have enough speed, you will likely get chain crowd controlled (frozen) and wipe. You want to be able to have your crowd control unit be fast enough (or boosted by another support) to act before the enemy team and control them. In each subsequent round, you then want to focus on controlling the enemy healer (Sania). This will make it much easier to destroy the enemy team as her healing is very powerful. The battle is much easier once you’re able to deal with Sania.

THRESHOLD: Moving from Hell II to Hell III/IV:
Making the jump to consistently farm Hell III difficulty requires upgrades in various areas. It generally takes more time than other tiers to start farming consistently, but you can eventually get there by focusing on the following aspects. Each area is important:
A. Team Composition: Evaluate who you have access to and what other players are using to put together an effective and consistent team. This includes building the right primary and/or secondary DPS (if needed) and the right support/control units.
B. Upgrade Levels and Skills: You want to upgrade your team with a strong focus on your primary and/or secondary DPS. This includes upgrading their level to 6 star max level for DPS units and at least 5 star max level for supports. You will also likely need to upgrade your primary/secondary DPS skills (maxing 1 or even 2 skills may be required depending on the unit). Additionally, you may also need to upgrade support unit skills especially support/healer or control units that affect their skill cooldown. Being able to use their skills more often is game changing.
C. Shells: Equipping your team with all mythic shells will make the fights easier and more consistent. A very helpful shell for support units is the Artisan shell. Using 3 or even 4 of these can help make your squad much more tanky. Another helpful power boost is using Revelation (for units that can use it). It’s a significant DPS improvement compared to lower tier shells. Overall, upgrading to epic shells (max level) will improve overall survivability and damage. Figure out the best shells for your units and build them.
D. Upgrade Gear: Equipping your units with all mythic pieces will boost your damage and survivability. Focus first on your DPS units and then your support units. Pay attention to sub stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For DPS this includes stats, such as crit DMG%, crit rate%, attack% and speed (and even HP% or DEF% for more survivability). This can help boost overall DPS for them. Some support units may be able to survive with lower tier gear, but the higher tier they have the easier the fights become.
E. Module Essence: Use your module essence in the module shop to get gear with 3 symbol matrixes. This allows you to equip your primary/secondary DPS with a 12 set and 8 set bonus. You may also need to farm your shells to get the right matrix combinations (it will take time but it is a strong upgrade). This will help a lot in your overall DPS. As long as you can clear some of the hell stages (even once), you can gain this currency and try your luck in the shop. Usually focusing on the Onslaught set and another secondary damage (differs depending on the DPS) set will be the most useful for DPS units.
F. Target Priority: In the continuous battle settings you can select and arrange target priority. This setting will allow the AI to prioritize a target and focus on it until it is eliminated. It can have a dramatic difference in a fight. For example, in Terrormaton, if your team DPS is high enough you focus fire the main boss (skip attacking the left arm). However, if your DPS is not high enough you want to focus fire the left arm first. Utilizing this setting can help your team to consistently defeat the boss. This can also apply to other fights like DokiDoki.
Clear Hell III: By focusing on each and every area presented above you’ll have a much greater ability to clear Hell III consistently. Each component is important as the jump from II to III is quite large compared to other previous levels.

INFERNO FIGHTS
GRIM PURSUIT: Beating Inferno Nico Nana

(with a full SR team)
This is a team made up of entirely SR units that can clear Nico Nana Inferno. Many F2P players should have access to many of these units. It is not the only viable team, but an example to give you an idea of what is needed.

1. Diting (DPS)
6 star (max level) – White Fang – All skills max – Momentum/Fury (focus on ATK% and C.Rate + C.Dmg) – ATK 3.1K – C.Rate 122% – C.Dmg 236% – HP 20K
2. Fangus (DOT DPS)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S2 & S3 max – Swiftrush/Bloodbath Gear (focus on Eff Acc, SPD, HP) – SPD 220, HP 23.9K
3. Obol (DOT DPS and CC)
5 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – All skills max – Swiftrush/Bloodbath Gear (focus on SPD, Effect Acc, HP) – SPD 245 HP 21.9K
4. Nell (Speed Manipulation, Debuff)
5 star (max level) – Gigabyte/Artisan – No skill upgrades – Swiftrush (focus on Eff Acc, SPD, HP) – SPD 200 – HP 18.9K – Effect Acc 160%

How the Team Operates:
Obol should be the fastest unit on the board in order to crowd control the adds while Diting should be last so that debuffs are applied before he attacks. Damage comes from Diting as well as DOT damage from Fangus and Obol. Fangus also applies a slow debuff while Nell grants the team a party wide speed buff as well as a vulnerability debuff. You don’t needed a dedicated healer as the speed manipulation, crowd control and damage from Diting as well as Fangus/Obol will kill the boss before healing is needed. If you do have issues with surviving, you can swap Nell for a dedicated primary healer.

GRIM PURSUIT: Beating Inferno Sharon
This is the team I used to beat the inferno version of Sharon. It’s not the only viable team, but it gives you an idea of the type of units you will need. It’s not fully optimized as it’s intended for players who are just starting to clear this type of content. Sharon is immune to all debuffs and applies DOTs throughout the fight. Mitigating the DOT damage while also dealing your own damage (without using debuffs on the boss) are key components of the fight.

1. Liliam (DPS, Self Buff, Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – White Fang – S3/S2 max – Onslaught/Fury/Furyedge – ATK 3.4K – C.Rate 96% – C.Dmg 297% – HP 20K – SPD 209

2. Lily (Support, Buff, CD reduction, Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S1/S2 max – Swiftrush – HP 21.8K – SPD 269

3. Cachi The Guard (Support, Immunity)
5 star (max level) – Artisan – S2/S3 max – Swiftrush – HP 20K – SPD 236

4. Fuqiu (Healing/Shields, Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – No skill upgrades – Swiftrush/Timeweave – HP 45K – SPD 225

How the Team Operates:
Cachi the Guard provides much needed immunity and DEF increase with a chance of extending other buff durations. The immunity prevents any debuffs on your team and increases overall survivability. You want Cachi to act before the enemy so you don’t take any debuffs. Lily provides a team wide speed buff, C.Dmg buff and CD (cooldown) reduction while Fuqiu provides shields and an additional team wide speed boost. The speed manipulation allows you to act more often than the enemy allowing you to deal more damage. In addition, shields from Fuqiu and the Artisans provide survivability. Lastly, Liliam is the main DPS carry that provides their own ATK and speed boost.

Potential Substitutes:
DPS:
Diting, Yeli
Support: DokiDoki, Ninfoniel
Sustain: Valeria, Sania

GRIM PURSUIT: Beating Inferno Shadowflame Hoyan
(with a team of 3 SR and 1 SSR in Hell gear and no Lily or Shadow Sania)
This is the team I used to beat Inferno Shadowflame Hoyan with gear from Hell III/IV. It’s just one example of a team that you can use and not the only viable team. It’s also not completely optimized (as it’s intended for people just starting inferno content), but it gives you an idea of what type of units and gear/shells to use. If you are F2P, you should have access to many of these characters:

1. Fangus (DOT DPS)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S2 & S3 max – Swiftrush/Bloodbath Gear (focus on Eff Acc, SPD, HP) – SPD 220, HP 23.9K
2. Obol (DOT DPS and CC)
5 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – All skills max – Swiftrush/Bloodbath Gear (focus on SPD, Effect Acc, HP) – SPD 245 HP 21.9K
3. Sania (Healing/Purify)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – All skills max – Bloodbath/Cure Gear (focus on HP, SPD) – SPD 196, HP 48K
4. Fuqiu (Healing/Speed Boost)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – No skill upgrades – Swiftrush/Timeweave Gear (focus on HP, SPD) – SPD 205, HP 45K

If you don’t have Fuqiu, you can potentially replace her with Lingluo (6 star – Swiftrush/Cure – Fortissimo/Gigabyte – S1 max). If you are going with Lingluo instead, you may need to ensure your other teammates have more survivability (e.g. higher max level and some more defensive stats on gear).

How the Team Operates:
Fangus and Obol stack DOTs and melt the boss. Fangus is your primary DPS that inflicts a lot of DOTs while Obol acts as a secondary DPS with significant DOT damage as well. Obol’s speed should be the fastest so he can stun all the adds before they can act. The damage from their retaliation is deadly. Sania is a very strong healer with all skills maxed out. On top of that she can cleanse and revive. Her revive is powerful since she can usually heal the unit to close to max HP as well on the same turn. Additionally, revive also helps balance out any bad RNG during a fight making the run more consistently successful. Fuqiu provides shields and a team wide speed boost and combined with Fangus’s slow debuff allows you to get more attacks in. The Gigabyte shells allow the healers to cut in and get some clutch healing in before taking more damage. Obol and Fangus on Codex allows you to have good opening rounds and control the adds thereby taking less damage and increasing survival. The bloodbath matrix set helps increase survivability.

Alternate Team:
Another viable option for those with more SSR units include:
1. Liliam (DPS, Self Buff, Speed Boost)
2. Lily (Support, Buff, Speed Boost)
3. Kloss (Support, Debuff)
4. Obol (Crowd Control, DOT DPS)

GRIM PURSUIT: Beating Inferno Rengokutsu
This is the team I used to beat Inferno Rengokutsu. It’s just one example of a team that you can use and not the only viable team. It’s also not completely optimized (as it’s intended for people just starting inferno content), but it gives you an idea of what type of units and gear/shells to use. You will generally need healing and sustain/survivability if your damage isn’t incredibly high. In addition, high speed on your debuffers will make the fight much easier. As you gain more damage, you can replace your sustain options with more buffers/debuffers.

1.Liliam (DPS)
6 star (max level) – White Fang – S3/S2/S1 max, Keeneye/Fury/Furyedge – ATK 3.2K – C.Rate 100% – C.Dmg 325% – HP 20K – SPD 192

2.Plume (Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S1/S3 max – Swiftrush – HP 28K – Effect Acc 186% – SPD 294

3.Viper (Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – All skills max – Swiftrush/Timeweave – HP 19K – Effect Acc 181% – SPD 234

4.Sania (Healing/Revive)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – All skills max – Bloodbath/Cure – HP 50K – SPD 196

How the Team Operates:
Healing and survivability is key if your damage isn’t extremely high. Sania is a safe option here on Gigabyte (bloodbath) as she can heal and revive giving you more consistency and a chance to still make a successful run even if any team members go down. Plume and Viper are also key as their debuffs reduce the damage out of the enemy. You want both of their speeds to be fast enough so they can apply their debuffs before the enemy can act. Lastly, Liliam is able to do quite a lot of damage to a single target. As you gain more overall damage, you can potentially use other buffers, such as Ninfoniel and/or Lily.

Potential Substitutes:
DPS: Yeli, Diting, Rosa, Batsby, Any other high damage multi-hitter
Supports: Lily, Ninfoniel, DokiDoki
Healing/Sustain: Lingluo, Valeria

GRIM PURSUIT: Beating Inferno Carrion Crows Khloros
This is the team I used to beat Inferno Khloros. It’s just one example of a team that you can use and not the only viable team. It’s also not completely optimized (as it’s intended for people just starting inferno content), but it gives you an idea of what type of units and gear/shells to use. Some of the keys to the fight include speed tuning (making sure your units go in the right order), having the right shells and skill upgrades for your units. Also remember to focus on the main boss. If you are doing the auto clear, enable the targeting priority (to allow the boss to be the primary target).

1.Liliam (DPS)
6 star (max level) – White Fang – S3/S2/S1 max, Momentum/Fury/Swiftraid – ATK 3.1K – C.Rate 100% – C.Dmg 284% – HP 20K – SPD 242

2. Lily (Support, Speed Boost, CD reduction)
6 star (max level) – Alicorn – S1/S2 max – Swiftrush/Swiftsmite –
HP 37K – DEF 1.7K – SPD 277

3. Plume (Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S1/S3 max – Swiftrush/Swiftsmite – HP 28K – Effect Acc 186% – SPD 294

4. Ninfoniel (Support, Buffer/Sustain)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S3 max/S2 L4 – Swiftrush/Swiftsmite – HP 43k – SPD 280

Potential Substitutes:
DPS: Yeli, Diting
Supports: Kloss, Viper

How the Team Operates:
For this fight you want to pay attention to your speed tuning and having the right shells/skill upgrades on your units. You want your buffers/debuffers to go before your main DPS carry. Overall high speed will help in this fight. Plume and Ninfoniel provide debuffs/buffs for the team and provide overall survivability via shields/healing and damage reduction. Furthermore, Alicorn and immunity from Ninfoniel, help prevent and/or remove control effects. This can be a key factor in being able to kill the boss within a few rounds and still survive. Lily provides a team wide speed boost and buff/cooldown reduction to your main DPS carry. Lastly, Liliam provides high single target damage. If you are struggling in the fight pay attention to your units stats, skill levels and shells.

THRESHOLD: Beating Inferno Terrormaton
This is the team I used to beat Inferno Terrormaton with Hell IV gear. It’s not fully optimized as it’s meant for players who are just starting to clear it. It is also just one example of a team that can be used. Many other options are viable, but it should give you an idea of what is needed. Getting to a point to be able to clear it takes time and skill upgrade investment (slow progression). If you aren’t there gear/stat wise, focus on areas you can improve and you’ll slowly be able to acquire everything that is needed.

1. Yeli (DPS)
6 star (max level) – Revelation – S2/S3 Max, S1 L4 – Momentum/Fury (focus on C.Dmg, C.Rate, Atk%) -ATK 3K, C.Rate 70%, C.DMG 325+%, HP 19.7K, SPD 178

2. Fangus (DOT DPS, Speed Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – All skills max – Bloodbath/Swiftrush (focus on Effect Acc) – HP 23.8K, Effect Acc 222%, SPD 236

3. Lily (Support, Speed Manipulation, Buffer)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S1/S2 Max – Swiftrush (focus on HP%/Def%) – HP 21.8K, DEF 2.8K, SPD 269

4. Valeria (Healer, Buffer)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S2/S3 Max – Wellspring/Swiftrush (focus on HP%) – HP 50K, SPD 176

5. Heinrich (Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – No skill upgrades – Swiftrush (focus on Effect Acc) – HP 20K, Effect Acc 174%, SPD 263

How the Team Operates:
Heinrich should be one of the fastest units on your team and act before your main DPS. Heinrich removes the bosses immunity so that you can then apply debuffs. Lily applies a team wide speed boost, C.Dmg buff and reduces skill cooldown on your primary DPS. Damage comes from stacking debuffs and having Yeli deal a lot of burst damage along with Fangus’s DOT damage. Valeria is critical due to her cheat death mechanic that allows you to survive the initial strong burst damage. She also applies buffs and shields. Additional survivability comes from the Artisan shells and bloodbath on Fangus. The overall speed manipulation from Lily and Fangus allows you to get more attacks in before taking damage.

Important points are having the correct speed on your team so that you can remove the immunity and apply debuffs before your primary DPS acts. The most gear investment will be for your primary DPS. Next, getting the best shell passives on each unit is also helpful. You can focus on getting the best DPS passives on your primary damage carry first. Next look at getting a good speed passive for all your other units. Higher speed for all units will help a lot in the fight.

If you are missing a strong primary DPS, it is possible to use Fangus as the primary DPS. However, you’ll need to get Fangus’s overall speed as fast as possible. The fight has a type of enrage mechanic and the way to overcome it is with a faster speed so you can do more damage before the boss can act.

Potential Substitutes :
DPS– Diting, Liliam, Shadow Sania
Debuffer – Holden, Dinah, Kloss
Buffer/Speed Manipulation – Chiaki (The Echo), Cachi (The Guard), Freya, Veronika, DokiDoki, Nell, Beyotin
Healing/Sustain – Fuqiu, Mia

THRESHOLD: Beating Inferno DokiDoki
This is the team I used to beat Inferno DokiDoki. It’s not fully optimized as it’s meant for players who are just starting to clear it. It is also just one example of a team that can be used. Many other options are viable, but it should give you an idea of what is needed. You’ll usually need high enough damage to kill everything before you take too much damage and/or have enough sustain and control to survive.

1. Xiada (DPS)
6 star (max level) – Revelation – S3/S2 max, S1 (L4) – Momentum/Onslaught/Furyedge – ATK 2.9K – C.Rate 98% – C.Dmg 336% – HP 23K – SPD 193

2. Lily (Support, Speed Boost, CD reduction)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S1/S2 max – Swiftrush –
HP 21K – DEF 2.8K – SPD 269

3. Obol (Control, DOT)
6 star (max level) – Jackal Guard – S3/S2/S1 max -Swiftrush/Timeweave – HP 24K – Effect Acc 174% – SPD 253

4. Ninfoniel (Support, Buffer/Sustain)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – no skill upgrades – Swiftrush/Timewave – HP 36k – SPD 257

5. Plume (Support, Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Codex of Magic – S1(max), S3(L3) –
Swiftrush – HP 27K – Effect Acc 186% – SPD 294

How the Team Operates:
You’ll need high enough damage to kill each wave before taking too much damage. This is achieved with a DPS with upgraded skills, buffs/debuffs, speed boost and control. Enemies get a damage reduction buff that can be removed via control effects. Lily provides the team with a speed boost and your main DPS with buff (C.Dmg)/CD reduction. Ninfoniel provides immunity, sustain (shields/healing), and a buff (ATK). Plume debuffs enemies so they deal less damage, reduces DEF and take more damage (and reduces SPD). Obol provides control and DOT damage. Lastly, Xiada is the damage carry and scales up as she gains buffs. The key to the fight usually comes down to speed tuning the team so that you can kill each wave and control them and ensuring that key skills are available at the right time. Once you get the right amount of damage and speed tuning setup you should be able to consistently complete the fight.

Potential Substitutes:
DPS:
Rilmocha, Yeli, Massiah, Rosa
Support: Kloss, Gray, Freya, DokiDoki
Sustain: Valeria, Fuqiu, Lingluo
Control: Kazuyo, Mio

THRESHOLD: Beating Inferno Aurora

This is the team I used to beat Inferno Aurora. It’s not fully optimized as it’s meant for players who are just starting to clear it. It is also just one example of a team that can be used. Many other options are viable, but it should give you an idea of what is needed. You’ll generally need enough sustain/healing to survive and potentially a DPS with multi-hitting capacity depending on your overall damage. The newly buffed Xiada is a good option with her added survivability (damage reduction)

1. Xiada (DPS)
6 star (max level) – Revelation – S3/S2 max, S1 (L4) – Momentum/Onslaught/Furyedge – ATK 2.9K – C.Rate 98% – C.Dmg 336% – HP 23K – SPD 193

2.Lily (Support, Speed Boost, CD reduction)
6 star (max level) – Artisan – S1/S2 max – Swiftrush –
HP 21K – DEF 2.8K – SPD 269

3.Lingluo (Healing/Sustain)
6 star (max level) – Fortissimo – S1 max – Swiftrush/Cure – HP 48K – SPD 231

4.Valeria (Healer, Buffer)
6 star (max level) – Gigabyte – S2/S3 Max – Wellspring/Timeweave (focus on HP%) – HP 50K, SPD 169

5.Viper (Support, Debuffer)
6 star (max level) – Halloween – S1/S2/S3 max – Swiftrush – HP 20K – Effect Acc 267% – SPD 211

How the Team Operates:
In this fight you’ll need healing to remove the damage curse that is applied by the boss. Lingluo and Valeria apply healing and buffs for the team. If your damage is high enough you can potentially replace Valeria with another debuffer like Plume. Viper can remove buffs and applies debuffs (damage and speed down) and reduces damage from critical hits (thereby boosting overall survival). Lastly, Xiada provides damage that scales with buffs and also gains reduced damage taken as her flames evolve (new buff in recent patch). This is overall a pretty tanky team that can survive and deal damage (at a slower rate). As you gain more power you can replace sustain options with more debuffers/buffers (e.g. Ninfoniel/Plume).

Potential Substitutes:
DPS
– Batsby, Diting, Liliam, Rosa, Yeli
Sustain – Mia
Support – Ninfoniel, Heinrich, Dinah, Holden, Nell, Beyotin, Tsukiyo Mi, DokiDoki

CLOSING THOUGHTS:

Altogether, there’s a lot to learn in this game. Focus on the Hyperlink Charter and 7-Day Commission challenges to progress in the early stages while also considering using crystals for energy refreshes. Next, selecting and building a team by covering certain roles will allow you to have the tools needed to face a variety of encounters. Lastly, have fun and experiment. There are many options and viable units that can work in the game that are waiting to be discovered and utilized.
